Director Ali Abbas Zafar, who has been working with Yash Raj Films ever since he made his debut in 2011, says the banner’s head honcho Aditya Chopra is an empowering producer.
Zafar told IANS: “Adi (Aditya) is a very empowering producer and one of the reasons is that he is himself a director. So, he doesn’t clip the wings of a director. He understands that it’s the demand of the story.”
Ali is known for his films including ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and ‘Gunday’. His next is ‘Sultan’, featuring Salman Khan as a wrestler.
The director says sports are very underrated in our county.
“Unfortunately, we underrate sports… When you play for three minutes, it tells you everything because that time you are alone and you need to believe that if I can’t fight for myself then no one is going to fight for me. That’s a strong message,” he said.
The film is slated to release on July 8, 2016.
