Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan

Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ is creating a hurricane at the box office. With love and appreciation pouring from all corners, there were rumours of a sequel hitting the floors sometime soon. A leading daily broke the news claiming that producer Aditya Chopra was already planning to turn ‘Sultan’ into a franchise. But looks like they were only rumours with no truth in them.

As reported by a leading entertainment portal, ‘Sultan’ director Ali Abbas Zafar rubbished any such possibility. “Not at all. There is no plan to make a sequel to ‘Sultan’. With the kind of love it has got from the audience, I don’t think I would like to tamper that till the time I find a story that is more evolved than this. Because it’s a sports film. It is very important that you need to have a philosophy. And the philosophy here was that wrestling is not just a sport; it is about fighting what lies within. And that is what the character goes through in ‘Sultan’. So till the time I find something larger than the character can go through it is not going to be rewritten or made into a sequel.” he said.

Sorry to disappoint you, fans!
