Ali Abbas Zafar: Priyanka Chopra will sport five different looks in ‘Bharat’

Bollywood’s very own Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra, is finally in her city for personal as well as professional reasons. Personal being, that the actress for the past few days has been enjoying a good time with her rumoured boyfriend, Nick Jonas. The duo had set off to Goa for a mini vacay and returned just yesterday.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Priyanka who was last seen in ‘Jai Gangaajal’ (2016), is making her Bollywood comeback with Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ which also features actor Salman Khan and Disha Patani. ‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of the 2014 Korean film ‘Ode To My Father’. Until now, there was no clarity about Chopra’s role in the film. But Director Ali recently spilled the beans on the same. Talking to DNA, Zafar revealed that just like Salman, Priyanka too will be seen in a younger avatar and will also be sporting FIVE different looks. He said, “Like Salman, PeeCee will also sport five different looks. She will age from 28 to 60 years, while he(Salman)will age from 25 to 65 years in the film. Though Sallu’s youthful appearance will be created using the age-reduction technique that was seen in the 2008 Brad Pitt-starrer ‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’, PeeCee might not need the same. We will use a mix of prosthetics, make-up, and VFX.”

Further, the director mentioned that the team is putting in a lot of efforts to study each era that will be showcased in the film. Elaborating on the same, he said, “Each of PeeCee’s avatars will be modelled on actresses like Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Sharmila Tagore and Shabana Azmi. It will encompass the styles of each of these heroines from the ’60s to 2010.”

Hearing this has got us even more excited to watch this film. Talking about its release, it is being reported that ‘Bharat’ will be out on Eid in 2019.
