Ali Fazal enters the list of actors to look out for in Hollywood

Well, it won’t be wrong in saying that Indian artistes are truly taking it to the west in a big way. After actors like late Om Puri, Gulshan Grover, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone etc. earned enough prominence amongst the American audiences, there’s one more Indian actor who is currently making waves with his work. No points for guessing, it is actor Ali Fazal, who is gearing up with the release of his upcoming Hollywood film ‘Victoria & Abdul‘. Recently, it has been reported that this film is soon going to have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 3.

But, the talented actor has surely added another feather to his hat with this new feat. Variety has recognised Ali as one of the top 10 actors to watch out for this year, globally. Apart from this, Ali will also be felicitated at the annual Hamptons International Film Festival where these awards and honours are given this year. The actor will be felicitated alongside other actors like Barry Keoghan of ‘Dunkirk’ fame, Daveed Diggs who’s previously won the prestigious Tony Award for his work in the Broadway show ‘Hamilton’. (Also Read: After working in Hollywood, here’s what Ali Fazal feels on racism)

This is indeed a great feat, and kind of a first when an Indian actor has been honoured this way. It’s heard that Ali will soon be leaving for a world tour to promote ‘Victoria & Abdul‘, and he will be starting with Venice.

Talking about the film ‘Victoria & Abdul‘, it is directed by Stephen Frears and stars veteran Hollywood star Judi Dench, playing the role of Queen Victoria, while Ali plays the part of Abdul.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Shrabani Basu and it is slated to hit the screens on October 6, 2017 in India.
