‘Alia Bhatt and the baby are hale and hearty,’ says actress’ brother Rahul Bhatt

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child, a baby girl on Sunday. The couple is yet to reveal their baby girl’s face and name. The Kapoor and Bhatt family members are beyond happy right now. Alia Bhatt’s brother Rahul Bhatt recently gave an update on his sister and niece. He also revealed that he is yet to meet Alia Bhatt and Ranbir’s baby.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Rahul said, “I am over-whelmed. I haven’t been able to see the child, but I am just happy that both the mother and the baby are hale and hearty, because that’s very important.”

Rahul further mentioned that his father, Mahesh Bhatt, is most excited to meet the little one. He said, “He’s the proudest person right now. He couldn’t wait for the baby’s arrival. What has happened is that he has had three daughters (Pooja, Shaheen and Alia), so it is a déjà vu of sorts for him. He is comparing this to the time when his first daughter, Pooja was born.”

Alia and Ranbir are currently on cloud nine. The couple tied the knot in April this year, and announced pregnancy in June. On Sunday, Alia shared the good news of her baby’s birth with a small note that read, “And in the best news of our lives: Our baby is here… and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love – blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!!!! Love love love Alia and Ranbir.”

On the work front, Alia and Ranbir were seen together in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. The film was released in September and it did well at the box office. Up next, Alia will be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The actress is also set to make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone. Talking about Ranbir, he has Animal.
