Alia Bhatt announces Gangubai Kathiawadi release date but it has a Ranbir Kapoor connection

As the Gangubai Kathiawadi release date has been postponed, actor Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram account and dropped a few pictures of herself while announcing the new dates of her upcoming film. However, her Instagram post has a Ranbir Kapoor connection and we can’t stop smiling about it. In the pictures, the RRR actor is seen soaking up the moonlight while we are assuming that her beau Ranbir must have clicked the pictures.

Wait, that’s not the connection we are talking about. As she announced the Gangubai Kathiawadi release date, Alia captioned those pictures with the lyrics of Ranbir’s song Yoon Shabnami from Saawariya. She wrote, “Dekho chand aaya … chand nazar aaya Gangu bhi aa rahi hain .. 25th February Ko” Reacting to the post, a fan commented, “haye meri chandani” while another one said, “Hayeee marzavaan”

Meanwhile, Alia and Ranbir have been hitting headlines for their marriage news. Though they have not yet confirmed the same, Alia’s mother once said even she doesn’t know when the wedding will happen.

Reportedly, Gangubai Kathiawadi is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. It is about Ganga Harjivandas, a simple girl of Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace ways of destiny and swing it in her favour. The film shows how she marks her own territory and turns Gangubai, a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura.

Besides Alia who plays the titular role, Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Ajay Devgn. The film is directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The much-awaited film will now release on February 25 in the cinemas.
