Alia Bhatt to star in the much-awaited ‘Dostana’ sequel?

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is currently at a peak of her career. After winning millions of hearts with her spectacular performance in the film ‘Raazi’ last year, the actress is all set to rule 2019. The 25-year-old actress not only has multiple movies lined up for release this year, but she is also being roped in for several big projects. If we believe to a report published in Mumbai Mirror then Alia Bhatt has been approached to play the lead in the much-awaited ‘Dostana’ sequel.

This comes almost 2-3 months after it was reported that filmmaker Karan Johar has given a green signal to the sequel of ‘Dostana’ which starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. It is to be noted that the 2008 version of ‘Dostana’ was directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

Mumbai Mirror quoted source as saying, “The conversation has begun, and Alia has liked the idea. She will hear the final script and close the formalities soon.”  “Casting for her two male co-stars is presently underway after which Karan will make the final announcement. Preproduction on the film has also begun,” the source added.

Currently, Alia is busy in promoting her next film ‘Gully Boy’. It is slated to release on 14 February. Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, the musical drama stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and is loosely based on the life of rappers Divine and Naezy.

Alia will also be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial comeback, ‘Sadak 2’. Besides Alia, the film also has Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles.
