Alia Bhatt feels ‘Dear Zindagi’ might start a new trend in Bollywood

Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’, where she will be sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. However, she is not paired quite literally opposite him, and the movie is also not a love story. The actress feels that the movie might start a new trend in Bollywood.

Alia said, “Gauri’s film isn’t a love story. We need to open our minds and think of different perspectives to films. There are people who ask at me, ‘Love story nahi hai?’ and I’m like, ‘Toh? Sirf love stories hi bante hai Bollywood mein?’ People need to change that attitude, especially today when so many different kind of stories are being written.”(sic)

The 23-year-old actress feels that the movie might start a new trend in Bollywood. Alia added, “‘Dear Zindagi’ can open up more arenas. I really hope it does. Especially, for the actresses from our generation who are much younger, as there will be a bigger window or chance of being paired with a superstar. The opportunities to work with one another will become more based on the kind of films that are being made today. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a love story anymore.”

The movie which also stars Aditya Roy Kapoor, Ali Zafar, Angad Bedi, and Kunal Kapoor is slated to release on November 25^th.
