Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt drops new poster; reveals the release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi is one of the most awaited movies of this year and its release date is finally revealed. Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book. Alia will be playing the character of a brothel chief from Mumbai. Announcing the release date of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Alia unveiled the new poster of the movie.

In the new poster, Alia is seen in her Gangubai avatar dressed in a light blue and white saree. She was wearing anklets on her feet that she rested on the table. Gangubai Kathiawadi will hit the theatres on July 30. The makers have decided to unveil the teaser today on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday.

Alia took to her Instagram and sharing the new poster of Gangubai Kathiawadi she wrote, “In cinemas 30th July, 2021 ♥️♥️(sic)” Bhansali Productions also shared the poster of the movie and talking about Alia’s character, the caption read, “Fiery and feisty, she’s ready to reign! Celebrating the man, his vision and 10th directorial, #GangubaiKathiawadi. Teaser out today. In cinemas on 30th July, 2021.(sic)”

Earlier, there was news that Emraan Hashmi will also be part of this film, but in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, he quashed all rumours. “That [Gangubai Kathiawadi] is not happening. I am not a part of that project. We were in talks but things did not pan out. Not in a bad way but somethings did not work out,” Hashmi said.
