Alia Bhatt leaves internet impressed with her performance as a protective sister; Jigra teaser trailer trends on YouTube

After intriguing fans with several posters of Jigra, the makers of the Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer unveiled the film’s teaser trailer yesterday, September 8. The nearly 3-minute-long clip shows Alia’s character Satya as a protective sister who is willing to push the boundaries and do everything needed to set her brother (played by Vedang) free. The action-packed promo showcases a fierce and raw side of Bhatt.

Since its release yesterday, the teaser trailer of Jigra has amassed over 17 million views on YouTube and is trending at #2 on YouTube currently. The trailer has amassed massive love in the form of views and comments across platforms thanks to Satya breaking the stereotype of brothers protecting their sisters.

In the teaser trailer, we see Alia’s character fighting against all odds to protect her brother. Additionally, The clip – which features a soulful cover of Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, features a montage of the love the siblings share and Satya’s attempts to rescue her brother from a high-security prison abroad. Alia – who is known for her diverse roles, is setting a new benchmark with Jigra and her bursting through flames in a car and escaping bullets and bombs is proof.
