A while ago, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon bagged the National Awards as best actresses. While Alia Bhatt won the National Award as best actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kriti Sanon won it for Mimi. The two divas took to their Instagram handles and were elated by their big win. They also posed together during the award distribution ceremony. Now, Alia Bhatt has recalled the time when they hugged each other before heading to the stage. The actress also made headlines about re-wearing her wedding saree to receiver her National Award.

Alia Bhatt speaks up about re-wearing her wedding saree

In a conversation at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Alia Bhatt was asked about her decision to re-wear her saree during the special occasion. To this, Alia said that whenever there is a special occasion, she also starts thinking about it just like everyone else. The actress said that as soon as it was announced that she was the winner, she instantly started thinking about what she would wear to receive the award. Alia Bhatt says, “I instantly thought I would re-wear my wedding saree because it’s very me. There are lots of thoughts and it’s been ideated by Sabyasachi Mukherjee but there’s also a lot of me. It was who I am and it’s the garment I felt most myself in.”

Alia Bhatt shares her special moment with Kriti Sanon

The Gnangubai Kathiawadi actress recalled her ‘pinch me’ moment and shared how she was overwhelmed by her win and the event. Alia Bhatt also shared a few anecdotes about a moment just before going up on the stage to receive her National Award. Alia recalled the moment when she and Kriti were standing in the queue to receive their awards.

It was when Kriti Sanon turned around to Alia and said that she wanted to hug her. Alia says, “It was… we both got emotional. It was two young girls living a moment of dream and gratitude. We both had tears in our eyes. After a point we had to stop hugging as we would have started weeping.”

Alia Bhatt was recently seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Now, she is working on her upcoming movie Jigra. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon was recently seen in Ganapath: Hero Is Born. Now she is gearing up to star in Do Patti.
