Alia Bhatt opens up about taking care of Neetu Kapoor after Rishi Kapoor’s death

Koffee With Karan has been a part of Indian pop culture for close to two decades now and it’s return with the seventh season had been the most awaited one. The first episode from Koffee With Karan 7 released today on Disney+ Hotstar with Karan Johar hosting his Rocky and Rani aka Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as his first guests of the season. The episode was filled with fun, emotions and a lot of revelations.

This was the first time Alia Bhatt had come for an interview after her wedding to Ranbir Kapoor earlier this year, so evidently the conversation had to begin by talking about her new family. While talking about dealing with the pandemic, the actress opened up about how the first few months just went into dealing with the loss of her father-in-law Rishi Kapoor.

Talking about it, Alia said, “When the pandemic hit and Covid began, for the first 3 to 4 months I remember, my focus was not in fact on Covid or the pandemic because we, as a family, were dealing with Rishi uncle’s passing away. That was like bang in the middle of the pandemic. So, March basically went intp spending his time in the hospital, his health situation and even in April. Post that, it was spending time with Ranbir’s mum (Neetu kapoor), who is my mum also now.”

The actress also shared how they all made sure to be close so as to help each other in that tough time. “We were staying together in one house for many days so that we all could at least be around her and just have that sort of family time.”

Neetu Kapoor and Alia share a very special bond and ever since Ranbir and Alia got married, Neetu ji have always said to the media that she has found another daughter in his son’s wife. She is always seen raving about her and their relationship is indeed special. Seeing Alia also getting so comfortable with her new family is just so adorable.
