Alia Bhatt opens up about being a mom & her journey with daughter Raha

Alia Bhatt, who recently gave birth to Raha, opened up about being a mother to Raha. She also elaborated upon her and Ranbir’s parenting style.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their little bundle of joy, Raha in November last year. Since then the couple has proven to be doting parents. Even though they haven’t revealed Raha’s face yet, Alia Bhatt keeps on giving a sneak peek into her mommy life time and again. Recently, in an interview with Vogue, Alia Bhatt opened up about being a mom and also elaborated on her journey with her daughter.

Alia on being a ‘present’ mother…

When Alia was asked about how she manages to be a ‘present’ mother she told Vogue, “I’m not putting too much pressure on either Raha or myself to be together as a family unit with Ranbir all the time.” Further, the Gangubai actress also praised her daughter and called her a ‘happy baby’. Interestingly the actress has unique views on parenting and rather than being authoritative with her baby, she just lets her be. “She’s just five months old and I’m so impressed with how well-behaved and peaceful she is. And on days when she isn’t, that’s fine too, because she’s a baby and has the right to have good and bad days,”Alia adds.

Alia on being anxious about doing it right…

Along with being considerate of her baby, Alia makes it a point to be kind to herself. The actress further added, “Similarly, I, as a mum, have the right to have great and terrible days too.” The past two years have been extremely good for Alia, and the actress has been basking in the glory of her work. Right from producing her first film Darlings to making her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, Alia has shone like a diamond. In Spite of working around the clock, she has aced the role of mother. Elaborating further on this, Bhatt said, “It does make me anxious to think whether I am doing right by my baby and work. There’s so much pressure on women to ace both…almost like this old-school dogma that once you have a baby, you have to martyr your career or you’re not a model mum.”

Alia on Ranbir’s role and support as a father…

After talking wholeheartedly about her role of being a mother, Alia also spoke about Ranbir Kapoor as a doting father. Well, it is clear that Ranbir is as involved in parenting as Alia is. Alia praised Ranbir and his unique tricks with Raha. She said, “Ranbir is such a hands-on father at home that it sometimes gets difficult for me to even hold her for a second. And he’s got very unique ways of hanging out with Raha”
