Alia Bhatt to play a rape victim in ‘Udta Punjab’

The makers of ‘Udta Punjab’ are doing every bit possible for the promotions of the film. Interesting details have been revealed about the film and the characters. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh.

Though most of us already know that Alia Bhatt will be seen playing the role of a Bihari migrant who dreams of making it big in the sport of hockey, reports suggest that she will also be seen as a rape victim in ‘Udta Punjab’. Apparently, the character played by her is raped by drug mafia, which we guess is the reason behind her haunting look in the film. Her role in the film has already created a buzz.

‘Udta Punjab’, directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, is set to release on June 17, 2016.
