Actor Alia Bhatt picked a stunning custom turquoise blue Mysore silk saree for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration. She picked the saree from the collections of Madhurya but it was no ordinary saree. The saree had important scenes from the Ramayan intricately handpainted on the Pallu and it was specially created for the event.

On Tuesday, Alia Bhatt’s stylish Ami Patel revealed the details of the saree. It comprised of the breaking of the Shiva Dhanush, King Dasharatha’s promise, in the boat with Guha. The saree also had the golden deer, Sita’s abduction, the Ram Setu, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita and the Rama Pattabishek. These miniature paintings were done in a traditional “Pattachitra” style. But there’s another special thing about the saree and that it took 100 hours to complete. It was created for this momentous occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.

Though we couldn’t find the price of the saree, it just looks beautiful and authentic. Fans were impressed to see Alia in the saree which was heavy with our culture. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor attended the event with her husband Ranbir Kapoor.
