The whole country got a very big and happy news yesterday as Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced the birth of their baby girl in the world. The proud mother took to her social media to make the announcement official. The statement read, “And in the best news of our lives: Our baby is here… and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love – blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!!! Love love love Alia and Ranbir. (sic)” Since then, congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the couple, while their families are over the moon with the arrival of the newest addition to their family. Amongst them, Ranbir’s uncle Randhir Kapoor is the latest family member to have shared his best wishes with the media.

While speaking to ETimes, Randhir, in a short and sweet message, remembered his late brother and Ranbir’s father, Rishi Kapoor, and said that he must be quite happy seeing the birth of his granddaughter. He said, “My brother Rishi Kapoor must be delighted in heaven. We Kapoors want everyone to be happy.”

Earlier today, Alia’s brother Rahul Bhatt had also shared his father Mahesh Bhatt and his reaction to the big news saying, “I am over-whelmed. I haven’t been able to see the child, but I am just happy that both the mother and the baby are hale and hearty, because that’s very important. He’s (Mahesh Bhatt) the proudest person right now. He couldn’t wait for the baby’s arrival. What has happened is that he has had three daughters (Pooja, Shaheen and Alia), so it is a déjà vu of sorts for him. He is comparing this to the time when his first daughter, Pooja was born.”

Last night, even Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor had given an update on Alia and her daughter sharing, “She is too small right now, just born today. So, hard to say right now but she is very cute.“ She also gave an update on Alia’s health and said, “She is ekdum (totally) first class. Everything is fine.” Here’s wishing the new mother and daughter a lot of happiness and good health.
