Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut this year in New York. The actress stunned in a white gown by Prabal Gurung. Keeping this year’s Met Gala theme (Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty) in mind, Alia paid a perfect tribute to the fashion icon. Several pictures and videos of Alia from the event went viral on social media. In one such viral videos, the New York paparazzi mistook Alia Bhatt for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and she handled the situation gracefully.

In the video, Alia posed for photos in her white gown. A pap shouted ‘Aishwarya this way’. Alia turned around and continued to pose for the paparazzi with a smile on her face.

This isn’t the first time that something like this has happened with an Indian celebrity. Deepika Padukone was once mistaken for Priyanka Chopra Jonas at the Met Gala 2019. Like Alia, Deepika too had a smile on her face as paps shouted ‘Priyanka, Priyanka’.

Coming back to Alia’s Met Gala appearance, she absolutely nailed it and how! Alia looked breathtakingly beautiful in her white gown. The actress’ Met Gala outfit was inspired by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.

After the event, Alia shared a bunch of photos of herself from the red carpet. A part of her caption read, “I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India)” The actress went on to reveal that her white embroidered gown was made of a whopping 1 lakh pearls.
