Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy in June with an adorable post. Alia took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of herself with hubby Ranbir from a hospital room where the couple was adorably looking at the sonography of their unborn child. The would-be-parents were showered with love and blessings from fans, family, and friends. But, Ranbir and Alia also fell victim of trolls. Some called it a promotional stunt for their upcoming film Brahmastra while some trolled Alia for being pregnant at an young age at the peak of her career.

Alia, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Darlings has opened up about people’s opinions on her pregnancy in a recent interview. Read on to know what she has said.

The actress told PTI, “Everything a woman does is put in headlines. Whether she has decided to become a mother, she is dating somebody new, she is going for a cricket match or on a holiday. For some reason, the eyeballs are always on women’s choices.”

She added, “Of course, I am young, but why does that have to change anything? Why does having a family or a child have to change my professional life? They are two completely different things. I would continue to and prefer to lead by example and action as opposed to giving any attention to the nonsensical things.”

The Raazi actress also said that a lot of decisions that she has made in her life is singular, and not in any relation to anyone, adding, “You don’t plan great things, they just happen.”

She wants to follow her heart and go with her instinct and gut and that’s what she has done through her professional and personal life.

Alia was in London shooting for her Hollywood film Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot when she announced the good news. After few days of her pregnancy announcement, she wrapped up the shoot and returned to Mumbai.
