Alia Bhatt on Ranbir Kapoor being called toxic
The 30-year-old actor said, “I think I have a very candid way of speaking. Even when I’m talking about anything in my life, I like to imitate the person that I am talking about. I like to give anecdotes, I like to make it personal. And I feel a lot of the things get picked out of context. My team told me this was spiralling out of hand I was like ‘Okay, let it go’ because people will genuinely keep talking all the time.
The Gangubai Kathiawadi actor said, “But then I realised there are serious articles talking about how he is a toxic man. I was like ‘Are we serious’? There are many issues in the world to talk about and give more attention towards than talking about something that I said in a completely different context. The only reason I felt bad or I feel bad is that people misunderstood because he’s genuinely the opposite.“
She further added, “There is also a line which I feel is being crossed. You cannot say anything, people can say what they want. Ranbir says, “Alia, the audience owns you. They can say what the hell they want about you. As long as your movies are doing well, please do not complain, sitting in your apartment in Bandra.”
Ranbir Kapoor reacted on people tagging him as toxic
Talking about the same, the Shamshera actor said, “Sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor. A lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true and you take it for a pinch of salt because this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public who like my work or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance as long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus is just to act.”
