Has Alia Bhatt replaced Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Ittefaq’ remake?

The remake of ‘Ittefaq‘ produced jointly by Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan has been in news for its casting. After Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh, who were said to play the male leads in the movie, it was Sidharth Malhotra who was finally finalised for the same.

Also it was only recently that the makers zeroed in Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead role, but turns out even Sona has been replaced, by none other than Sidharth’s real life girlfriend, Alia Bhatt. Directed by Abhay Chopra, the psychological thriller will have Alia and Sid pitted against each other. The couple has only been seen romancing in their earlier two films and their next, which is allegedly said to be ‘Aashiqui 3’, is again a romantic saga.

The couple will start shooting for the ‘Ittefaq’ remake once they finish their current shootings.
