Alia Bhatt reveals she will add Kapoor to her name: Don’t want to feel left out

After marriage, we have often seen actors changing or adding their spouses’ surnames to their names. Actor Aishwarya Rai added Bachchan after getting married to Abhishek Bachchan. Kareena Kapoor added Khan after her marriage to Saif Ali Khan, similarly even Bipasha Basu added Grover after getting hitched to Karan Singh Grover. Now, it seems like actor Alia Bhatt is also set to add Kapoor to her name after getting married to Ranbir Kapoor. 

Talking to Mid-day about updating the name on her passport, she said, “I am happy to do it.” After Ranbir ‘promptly’ changed his marital status on his passport, Alia said, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out.” 

“I will and always will be Alia Bhatt. And now I am also a Kapoor,” she confirmed. However, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor added that she will not be changing her screen name.

On the other hand, the Brahmastra team went live recently and they opened up on many things. The Shamshera actor even confessed that it was love at first sight for him with Alia Bhatt.

During the live session, Ranbir revealed how he fell in love with the Darlings actor. “I guess, when Shiva saw Isha, it was very easy for me. Because it was like how Ranbir fell in love with Alia, he fell in love naturally and how I fell in love with her. It was love at first sight,” he said. This leaves Alia blushing.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be sharing screen space together for the first time in Brahmastra. The movie is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and its release date is September 9.
