Alia Bhatt and sister Shaheen Bhatt jet off to Berlin Film Festival for Gangubai Kathiawadi premiere

Alia Bhatt is on cloud nine as her much-awaited movie Gangubai Kathiawadi is soon going to release soon. Ahead of it, on Monday night, Alia and sister Shaheen Bhatt were spotted at Mumbai airport as they headed out to attend the world premiere of the actress’s upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival which will be held from 10th to 20th February 2022.

The Bhatt sisters aced their monochrome looks. The Student Of The Year actress donned an all-white outfit, she was seen wearing a white cropped turtleneck sweater that she paired up with white flared pants and complimented her look with ivory block heels. She also carried a Balenciaga tote bag and keeping COVID-19 in mind, the actress also wore a white face mask.

Meanwhile, Shaheen wore a black sweatshirt and faux leather track pants with white shoes. They also stopped by to pose for the cameras and were seen holding hands as they walked towards the airport.

Gangubai Kathiawadi’s world premiere will be screened tomorrow. This will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first film to be premiered at the festival. The movie will be screened in the Berlinale Special, a special segment of the festival that features exemplary cinema from all around the world.

Meanwhile, Alia’s upcoming movie Gangubai Kathiawadi is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali will release on February 25. The film is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S. Hussain Zaidi. It also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
