Alia Bhatt SLAMS media for patriarchal coverage on pregnancy: I am a woman, not a parcel

Actor Alia Bhatt seemed to be miffed by certain media reports who have claimed that she will return to Mumbai in mid-July. It is also being reported that Ranbir Kapoor might go to the UK to bring his wife home and will be taking a rest after she returns. Moreover, it is also said that Alia’s pregnancy was a planned one without hampering the shoot of her upcoming movies Heart of Stone and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Slamming the media and reacting to the part where it was mentioned Ranbir will bring her home, Alia Bhatt stated that she is a woman and not a parcel. Further, reacting to the report of her taking a rest, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor thanked the media for having doctors’ certification.

Asking the media to get out of this archaic way of thinking, Alia wrote, “Meanwhile, we still live in some people’s heads we still live in some patriarchal world… FYI. Nothing has gotten delayed! No one needs to pick anyone up, I am a woman not a parcel! I do not need to rest at all but good to know you’ll have a doctors certification as well. This is 2022, Can we please get out of this archaic way of thinking! Now if you would excuse me… my shot is ready.”

On Monday, the Kalank actor share a picture where she is seen lying on a stretcher, undergoing sonography with her husband Ranbir Kapoor. She is seen beaming with joy as she watches her little one on the screen. Sharing the picture on social media, Alia Bhatt wrote about her pregnancy, “Our baby ….. coming soon”
