Alia Bhatt stands tall as Gangubai Kathiawadi becomes the only successful female lead film post pandemic

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was released in theatres about a few months ago. The movie has been riding high on positive reviews from critics and the audience, ever since. Alia managed to win hearts with her stellar performance as Gangubai. She impressed one and all with her acting prowess. As the actress continues to charm us with her vivid performances, she proves she is amongst the top actresses in the country. With the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt stands tall as her movie becomes the only successful film since the pandemic led by an actress.

The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has turned out to become the biggest non-holiday opening for a Bollywood film. And, Alia is impressing the audience with her performance. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial managed to cross the 50 crore mark in the first week of its release, itself. In the three weeks of its release, Gangubai Kathiawadi went on to rake a collection of over 100 crore. With the box office collections of Gangubai Kathiawadi, the movie went on to become the only successful female lead movie, post-pandemic.

Meanwhile, it was only recently that the Alia Bhatt starrer was released on a streaming platform. The SLB movie has been reigning on the top position since it started streaming on the OTT platform.

Recently, Alia had taken to her Instagram to share a cool video to inform fans that the movie is now streaming on Netflix. She shared the clip and wrote, “Movie night in #GangubaiKathiawadi streaming on Netflix (sic).”

The movie Gangubai Kathiawadi was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Alia in a key role. The movie also features Ajay Devgn, Huma Qureshi, Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari and Seema Pahwa.
