Alia Bhatt starrer RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi to have a theatrical release; makers react

In the recent past, a few Bollywood films have made it to the theatres. Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom and film Chehre featuring superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi released in theatres. While a few films are gearing up for a theatrical release, there were speculations that Alia Bhatt’s upcoming films RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi will be releasing on OTT platforms. Now, the makers of the films have issued an official statement, reacting to the rumours. The makers confirmed that the two films starring Alia Bhatt will have a theatrical release. 

The official Twitter handle of Pen India Limited made a tweet and shared the official statement. The statement read: “We would like to clarify that ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’& `Attack’ will release in Cinemas. There have been several rumors doing rounds about these films releasing on OTT platforms before cinemas which are untrue. These magnum opus films are made for the big screen experience and would be releasing in theatres- Dr. Jayantilal Gada Chairman and MD Pen Studios. (sic)”

Apart from Alia Bhatt’s RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi, the film Attack will also release in theatres.

Cinema-goers have been eagerly waiting for the much-anticipated film. They are excited about the magnum opus films since the makers released the teasers. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi features Alia Bhatt in a key role. It is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. RRR stars Ramcharan, and Jr NTR in a pivotal role. The film is directed by SS Rajamouli. Attack, on the other hand, is an action-thriller film starring John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakul Preet Singh.
