Alia Bhatt posts a heartfelt video for sister Shaheen, after reading her first book

After Bollywood celebrities including Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar and many others opened up on their battle with depression, Alia Bhatt’s sister Shaheen Bhatt too penned down her own battle with it in her debut book, ‘I’ve never been (un)happier’ that she launched on World Mental Health Day this year. Shaheen had earlier opened up about her struggle with depression and the book is about her memoir about living with depression and how she conquered her demons.

After reading Shaheen’s first book, Alia Bhatt took to her social media handle and posted an emotional video apologising to her sister for not being able to understand her silent moments of depression.

Alia wrote, “Dear Shaheen.. Somehow when I finished reading your book I couldn’t tell you how I felt immediately.. Cause I felt too much.. And I don’t think I could ever discuss it with you properly.. I’ve tried now! Link in bio.. #NeverBeenUnhappier.”

Earlier, Alia had tweeted, “I always have known my sister was brilliant. She’s been my hero, my role model and a being I’ve aspired to be like in life cause of her inherent goodness, warmth, heart, supremely kick-ass sarcastic sense of humor and so on..
