Recently, a big controversy broke out when Salman Khan was announced as the Goodwill Ambassador for Indian Contingent in the Rio Olympics. Many people, including the Padma Sri holder Milkha Singh, criticised this move of the government and stated that athletes be chosen to be the face of Indian team in Olympics. Later, Salman’s father Salim Khan came to his rescue and openly bashed Milkha Singh’s take.
Following this, Indian politician Amar Singh, too has come out in the open and supported Salman Khan. In one of the interviews, Amar Singh lauded Salman Khan and said that he has a heart of gold. He also said that any support from any Bollywood celebrity is welcome. He said, “Salman Khan has got a heart of gold. I respect his father Salim Khan a lot. Promoting any noble cause whether done by Salman (Khan) or by Abhishek (Bachchan) for Kabaddi is welcome. Narrow minded people should not unnecessarily criticise.”
Definitely, Abhishek Bachchan is doing everything possible to uplift the sport of Kabadi, while Salman too is going to highlight the sport of wrestling in his upcoming film ‘Sultan’.
