Bollywood’s biggest superstar Amitabh Bachchan is one of best actors that India has ever produced. The 76-year-old has still got a child-like enthusiasm and innocence about him and doesn’t like to sit on his laurels. Now, Big B shared a very special anecdote about Shiv Sena supremo and founder, the late Balasaheb Thackeray.

The ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ actor was present at the teaser launch of ‘Thackeray’, which is a biopic being made on the life and times of Bal Thackeray. The national award winning actor spoke about the time he went into a critical state while shooting for ‘Coolie’. At that time Big B was rushed to Mumbai where it seemed like the weather was against him and no ambulance could reach to pick him up. Amitabh was in critical condition as he was badly injured during the shoot.

It was Shiva Sena’s ambulance provided by Balasaheb that helped him. Amitabh further shared, “Balasaheb helped me when I needed it most. If it had not been for him, I would not have been alive today.” The actor has always shared a very special and precious bond with Balasaheb and his family and the respect is mutual.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is playing the titular role of Bal Thackeray in his biopic. This larger than life movie is being produced by Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut and is being directed by Abhijit Panse.

‘Thackeray’ is slated to hit screens on January 25, 2019.
