Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to pay a tribute to his mentor Veteran comedy actor Mehmood. The comedian who garnered the same respect as the leading man of the movie Mehmood was a good friend of Big B. He had even offered him a place to stay in his residence during Big B’s struggling days. Later on, when Mehmood turned producer with Bombay to Goa, he offered Big B his first lead role. To mark the tenth death anniversary of Mehmood his brother Anwar Ali has decided to host a week long screening of their hit comedy film ‘Bombay to Goa’. Flagging off the event will be superstar Amitabh Bachchan . The film will be showcased during the second week of April at select PVR screens.
According to sources, The screening of’ Bomaby to Goa’ is a part of the tribute spanning nine months. The first event in this series was a comedy evening hosted by Vir Das and radio legend Ameen Sayani earlier this year. Anwar says. “It will be a delight to watch the film on the big screen after a gap of more than four decades. We’re glad that Amitabh Bachchan will be flagging off the week-long screenings,.We want to screen the other movies of Mehmod too. But we are still in discussions about that.”
Mehmood was one of the greatest comedian of Bollywood and it will be a treat for his fans .
