Amitabh Bachchan has been seen performing quite a lot of action in movies in his early days. But did you know that he recently refused to use a body double to perform an action sequence at the age of 80? Big B was filming for an advertisement that required him to perform an action sequence. It is said that a stunt person was hired by the production for the scene but Bachchan refused to use a body double and said he will be performing his own stunts.
Talking to ETimes, action director Manohar Verma, who choreographed the action sequence said, “We were prepared with a body double but when Mr Bachchan came on set he told the director that he would prefer to perform his own stunts. We had to take a lot of precautions, too.” He added, “Mr Bachchan aced it like a pro and he clearly symbolises the fact that age is just a number. Those who were present on set were reminded of the angry young man of Deewaar and Zanjeer.”
Talking about the scene, Big B was required to smash three toughened glass panes one after the other and he seemed to have nailed it almost in the first take. Amitabh Bachchan will be celebrating his 80th birthday in October this year and he has been raising the bar with such sequences. The legendary actor shared a BTS pic from the shoot.
Sharing the picture, Big B wrote in the caption, “After 53 years and age 80 .. there are some things that never change .. ACTION(sic)”
