Amitabh Bachchan is hands-down one of the most celebrated actors of the Hindi film industry. The legendary actor never ceases to amaze us but sometimes he also ends up drawing the ire of the netizens. Big B recently shared that a bat had entered his house. He later joked how the Coronavirus is refusing to leave him alone.
His attempt to make light of the situation didn’t go down well with the netizens and soon he was slammed for blaming bats for the spread of the deadly virus.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, the veteran actor wrote, “Ladies and gentlemen of the Jury .. news of the hour .. BREAKING NEWS .. would you believe it ..A Bat , a चमगादर has come into my room .. in Jalsa .. on the 3rd floor .. in my Den .. badi mushkil se use bahar nikala .. Corona peecha chodh hi nahin raha (sic).”

Expressing their disappointment over the actor not realising the reach of his posts, one of the followers pointed out, “Not in good taste sir. You have millions of followers. Still we don’t have exact process of human virus spillover. Demonising bat is last thing we want. Things we know for sure; They are pollinators. They help in pest control. Please revisit it(sic).”
Whereas another user commented, “Sorry to hear this from a reputed personality. Bats are not harmful and there is no need to fear. Kindly understand that they did not spread the virus to a human. The reason is still debated. By nature, most animals have got a virus in their body(sic).”

We understand that you have a bit of humour in your tweet. But not all your followers will be able to understand that. We keep hearing that people have started to vilify this animal& some stray incidents of violent acts have already been reported. We already have enough to deal ?

The bats & pangolins which are naturally found in India are harmless. Don’t demonise them.

It's quite shameful that a quiz show host is taking to social media to spread misinformation. Here's a simplified comic starring you and a bat on #kaunbanegacrorepati to educate you. pic.twitter.com/ndFiSVh0e0

Well, let’s hope that at least in the future, celebs will think twice before sharing such posts. Also, this is not the first time Big B has been bashed by netizens, previously too he was slammed for sharing superstitious and unverified information.
