Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account HACKED; restored later

Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account is one of the most followed social media accounts in India. The popular account with millions of followers was hacked late last night. It was quite shocking to see Amitabh’s bio getting changed to ‘Love Pakistan’. Not only that, the display picture also got changed to that of Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricketer Imran Khan.

The tweets that followed soon after were praising the neighbouring nation in some way or the other. It was something that you probably don’t expect coming from an Amitabh Bachchan Twitter account. Soon, people started talking about it on media WhatsApp groups and even Amitabh Bachchan’s social media team got informed of the same. Within minutes, they jumped into action and with the swiftness of a panther, they managed to inform the Mumbai Police and the Cyber Crime Cell involved. With the joint efforts of all these people, the account got restored around midnight.

Amitabh didn’t talk about the account getting hacked on his morning blog, but he did respond to some of the Twitter users who asked him about whether the account was restored or not.

Amitabh’s Twitter account was accused of being hacked last year also when people pointed out that he was following some random TV celebs and their fan clubs. People got worried and started talking about the same. However, soon enough, Amitabh Bachchan came forth and informed that it was actually he only who followed those lesser known TV celebs and their fan clubs. It wasn’t a mistake or a hacked account.

However, this time it wasn’t a false alarm. Thankfully, Amitabh’s account is back on track and he is back to reverting to people in his casual cool way.
