Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Sarkar 3’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ to clash at box office

Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ faced umpteen number of delays before it finally got a release date. The makers heaved a sigh of relief after they locked April 7, 2017 as the film’s theatrical release date. However, not anymore! Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar 3’ which features megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, is set to lock horns with ‘Jagga Jasoos’ on the same date!

‘Sarkar 3’ was earlier scheduled for a release on March 17. But it got postponed. Last night, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and confirmed the delay.

Now that’s indeed a heavy clash. On one side, there’s the Big B magic. On the other side, fans of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are eagerly waiting to see the former couple on the big screens for one last time, as the two are very unlikely to collaborate for a film ever again.

Ranbir and Katrina’s breakup caused much stagnancy on the sets. They were not even on the slightest talking terms and also denied to fly for an outstation shoot together. The awkwardness was so visible that everyone from the team could sense it and Anurag Basu often had to intervene and sort things out. Even for the promotions, they are most likely to travel separately. The clash will certainly be an added pressure.

‘Sarkar 3’, on the other hand, would have clashed with Srijit Mukherjee’s ‘Begum Jaan’ if it released on March 17.
