Amrita Rao wants THIS actress to play her character in ‘Ishq Vishk’ sequel

Though Amrita Rao made her Bollywood debut with ‘Ab Ke Baras’ in 2002, she became popular with ‘Ishq Vishk’. She was paired opposite Shahid Kapoor. Shahid and Amrita redefined college romance with their chemistry. Their performances were raved by the audiences and this coming-of-age romance film got Amrita an IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year in 2004. Now, as the sequel has been confirmed by producer Ramesh Taurani, Amrita wants Sara Ali Khan to play her role of Payal.

During an interview to IANS, Amrita in a jocular vein said, “The way I look right now, I think I can be cast opposite Ishaan Khatter (Shahid’s brother).” When she was asked to choose between Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, Amrita chose Sara over the others. “Maybe Sara can play Payal and Tara can play Shenaz’s character,” she said.

Helmed by Ken Ghosh, ‘Ishq Vishk’ became a blockbuster in 2003. A few months back, Ramesh Taurani told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, we are making a sequel to ‘Ishq Vishk’. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance.”

Sara Ali Khan and Ishaan Khatter have not yet shared screen space together. If they are paired together, it would be great to see the fresh pairing. Also, Tara will fit into the role of Shenaz Treasury’s character. What do you think?
