MX Player has recently released its web show ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ starring Anant Vidhaat, Riya Sen and Vinny Arora. Anant has made his digital debut by playing the lead role of Mohan. The enthralling horror-comedy has been directed by Nisheeth Neerav Neelkanth.
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Anant Vidhaat talked about his debut in the digital space, his struggles in the industry and a lot more about his works.
When we asked Anant how different his offering is from that of Kartik Aaryan’s movie with the same name or even from the one with Sanjeev Kumar, to which he said, “We started shooting in 2018 December and I met the team before ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ movie was announced. So we never had to seek anybody else’s. Our web series has nothing to do with the film. There are a quirk and spin in the web series. Here the husband is not cheating on his wife and it is a completely different setup and in this set up the meaning of Pati Patni Aur Woh changes.”
Talking about his journey from Delhi to Mumbai, Anant said, “I have done theatres in schools and college. Satish Kaushik ji was the alumni of our theatre society in Delhi. He came there and I requested him that after my graduation if I can come to Mumbai and assist him as I was too eager and impatient. I came to Mumbai just after my graduation and was too young. I worked with him for two years and then I realised and figured out what it is and realised I need to be a little more patient. I started missing my acting in theatres and felt that I need to be just an actor.”

Initial days of Anant in Mumbai was not a bed of rose. He had to struggle a lot as he was new to the city but instead of sulking and going into depression, he chose to polish and train himself in the best of the way he could at that point of time. So, he went for further training in Poland and trained himself as an actor for the next there-four years and came back to Mumbai in 2011.
“I was giving auditions for a long time and in 2012 I gave audition for ‘Gunday’ and got through it. Then I got ‘Sultan’ and started getting ‘dost ka role’ for many films and I rejected many such roles. After that, I got ‘Tiger Zinda Hain’ where I played a raw officer,” he said.
Anant further added, “After every role, we do as an actor, people try to typecast and that is another struggle. As an actor, there are struggles in different phases. Until and unless you become a superstar, there will be a basic struggle and I think even after becoming a superstar they have their own share of struggle still because now they have to maybe change their image.”
Anant is happy that he met Nisheeth and was very happy with the story of ‘Patni Patni Aur Woh’. The moment he heard about the character he felt very good said ‘yes’ to it.
