Ananya Panday is among one of the rising stars in Bollywood and along with being an amazing actress Ananya is also a very strong social media personality. But, social media is not an easy place to be, one of the reasons being the infamous trolls and The Student Of The Year 2 actress has faced it all. Ananya revealed in an exclusive interview with us that she is not completely immune to trolls, she said as a kid, “I was very thin and people used to make fun of my toothpick legs; calling me chicken legs. They used to call me hunchback because I used to have a slouch.” But Ananya said that she had a very strong set of friends and her teachers and parents were very supportive and the Student Of The Year 2 actress got through it as she derived a lot of strength from them.
Ananya Panday talked about being brutally trolled online but eventually developing an immunity over time to the trolls. The Pati Patni Aur Woh actress said that she is a work in progress when it comes to being immune to the negativity, she told Bollywood Bubble, “It is an ongoing process, I can’t say that it still doesn’t hurt me because I feel like I am pretty thick skin. But I feel like still one day when you are not in the right frame of mind; if something happened at work and then on top of that you see something then it can hurt you.”
She added, “There are days like that where I ask ‘but why? what did I do that is like so wrong that people’ and feel like when people attack your personality that is the worst thing. So it does hurt when people say, ‘her voice is so irritating’, ‘why is she talking like this” But Ananya feels that positivity is the only way through, “Just be as positive as you can be and kind as you can be. Make sure you dont make someone feel that way.”
Ananya opened up that she was called a boy, flat screen and many other names at a time when she was very young ad just developing her self confidence. But she is in the process of accepting herself and loving herself to the point where what other’s say would not matter at all, “The only way to deal with it is, I think you have to learn to filter out the good comments from the bad ones. What is positive criticism and you can actually work on.” Ananya said that she very fond of social media and that is the place where she gets a lot of love from her fans. She enjoys posting pictures and sharing her life with her fans, but she also maintains the balance that this is not her ‘whole life’ but just a part of it.
