Ananya Panday on shooting for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan: It seems like someone is dissecting my life

Ananya Panday has been a part of the Hindi film industry for just over three years, but in this limited time, she has established herself as one of the most sought-after leading actresses of the industry. She recently made her pan-India debut opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the action-drama Liger, and while the film has received mixed reviews everywhere, the actress is all set with an exciting slate of projects to follow.

After Liger, Ananya Panday has her reunion project with Siddhant Chaturvedi, which also features Adarsh Gourav, the friendship drama Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. During a recent interaction with PTI, the actress opened up about the project, calling it a ‘cathartic’ experience. “It is relevant to someone especially of my age because it has a lot to do with social media. It’s a coming-of-age story about friendship. There are emotions that we all go through. It is quite cathartic,” she said.

Talking about how the scenes in the film affected her, the actress added, “There are times when you read a scene and you feel that has happened to me, it seems like someone is dissecting my life. I have had my own bit to this film, you almost feel like it’s real.” Kho Gaye Hum Kahan chronicles the story of three friends in Mumbai and is directed by debutant filmmaker Arjun Varain Singh. It is produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby.

Ananya also reflected on how her process as an actor has changed over the years. She shared, “When I started out, I was completely a director’s actor and I loved spending time with the director and the way they had thought of a scene. I would go with that mostly. It was a great way of working. Gehraiyaan was a game changer because Shakun (Batra) had faith in me and helped me find my voice as an actor. I learnt a lot from the film and I see the difference in me.” Apart from these projects, Ananya is also slated to appear in a special song opposite Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
