Not Ananya Panday but THIS actress was the first choice opposite Vijay Deverakonda in Liger

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday are currently busy promoting their upcoming film Liger. Vijay plays the role of a boxer, whereas Ananya plays his love interest in the film. Ananya and Vijay’s chemistry in on point in the action drama. During a recent media interaction, Liger director Puri Jagannadh revealed that Ananya was not the first choice for Liger.

When asked about the casting, Puri said, “I am a big fan of Sridevi ji. And I wanted to cast Janhvi (Kapoor) for the role. But then the dates weren’t available.”

Puri who is also helming Vijay’s next ‘Jana Gana Mana’ revealed that even for this film, his first choice was Janhvi Kapoor. He had approached her with a script but the dates clashed again.

For the uninitiated, Janhvi wants to work with Vijay. Earlier, in an interview with Zoom TV, Janhvi had said, “I really want to work with him, I have been saying this since the first time I went on Koffee. I think he is such a gifted actor.” Earlier, Vijay had also said that he would like to work with Janhvi Kapoor.

Janhvi has interesting projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in Bawaal with Varun Dhawan. She wrapped up shooting for the same in July. Apart from this, Janhvi also has Mr and Mrs Mahi with RajKummar Rao and Mili.

On the other hand, apart from Vijay and Ananya, Liger also stars Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy. Mike Tyson has a cameo in Liger. The film is slated to release on 25^th August, 2022.
