Andaz Apna Apna remake on the cards, CONFIRMS director Rajkumar Santoshi

Andaz Apna Apna turned out to be a comedy cult. It is one of the most-loved movies of Bollywood. The film was released in 1984 and was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. It starred Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor in lead roles. However, over the years, there have been several reports stating that the makers are eyeing a sequel or a remake.

Now, the director has finally confirmed that Andaz Apna Apna remake is on the cards. Talking to Pinkvilla, Rajkumar Santoshi said: “I am writing the script, but I should be satisfied with the final story too. So when the script is ready, we will think about the star cast and everything. Meanwhile, I have other films in the pipeline too.”

Further, the director was also questioned if Aamir Khan and Salman Khan will be reprising their roles as Amar and Prem from the original film. He stated that they have not thought about it. “If the story requires it then we will see.”

The director revealed that he attended Aamir Khan’s birthday party yesterday, which was an intimate event in Mumbai. He also stated that they revived some memories from their shoot of Andaz Apna Apna. “We spoke about our days on the set of Andaz Apna Apna, what all happened during that shoot, and laughed about it. But we didn’t discuss any new project per se. Whenever something happens, we will let you know.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajkumar Santoshi’s last theatrical released film was the 2013 action-comedy movie, Phata Poster Nikla Hero which starred Shahid Kapoor in the leading role.
