Salman Khan: This generation of men do not want to be men

At the trailer launch event, Salman Khan praised Salim-Javed for mirroring life into their scripts, which most other writers fail to do. Speaking at the event, Salman said, “Most of the writers, they write. Salim-Javed thought. They put their life experiences, what they have learned from people around them, what they have seen, and what their parents have taught them. So they have taken it from life and they have put it in cinema. Rest of the writers, cinema se utha ke cinema mein dala hai.”

Comparing the current generation to Salim-Javed, Salman said, “God makes men but they don’t want to be men anymore. He makes a lot of men but this generation, they do not want to be men. These two here, my father and Javed Saab, they are men, they are still men because they want to be men.”

Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan worked together for many years and penned the story and dialogues for several hit films. Their filmography includes titles such as Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewar, Don, Shaan, and more.
