Anil Kapoor comments on rising cost of actors; says, “Stars need to be more realistic in charging their fees”

The talk about entourage cost and actors charging huge amount for the movie have become the talk of the town. Many have come out and boldly spoken about the concern in the industry and now, actor Anil Kapoor shared his views on the same. Speaking to Indianexpress.com, Anil shared how the stars need to be more realistic about their demands and fees. “This is a very important conversation,” Anil emphasised.

Adding, “All actors, actresses, and technicians, especially the stars need to be more realistic in charging their fees and demands so that filmmakers can make more films.” He shared “I heard what Karan Johar said about the exorbitant fees that actors are charging these days and I completely agree with him. My father, who was a producer, my family, and I have gone through tough times trying to make good films. We tried to put in our money, but the star fees and entourage costs were so high that it became almost impossible to fund the kind of quality films we wanted to make.”

Anurag Kashyap on the rising entourage cost

During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kashyap blamed the agencies for the rise. He said, “Ye jo chakkar hai entourage ka, iska blame agencies par bhi jata hai. Ye un makeup artist, hair department aur entourage ko represent karte hai aur unse backend bhi lete hai. So the people who need to be called out are the agencies. And I don’t take any bullshit from them. Yahi agents demand ki wajah se cost escalate karte hai. Kya hai na ki industry ki health Aaj kharab hai sirf is wajah se. So so health thik Karne ye sab sahi karna padega. (The health of the industry is deteriorating due to such practices and everyone needs to fix it).”
