Anil Kapoor will next be seen in Atul Manjrekar’s ‘Fanney Khan‘ along with Rajkummar Rao and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actor is promoting his film in full swing along with the producers – Bhushan Kumar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and his co-star Rajkummar. However, Aishwarya has been missing from the promotions as she is busy on a work cum holiday trip to Paris.
In a recent media interaction at the Sun & Sand hotel, Anil Kapoor candidly spoke about his character, the film and much more. In the interview, the actor revealed the secret behind the simple clothes which his character dons in the film. He said, “I have worn used clothes in ‘Fanney Khan’ and some were bought from Chor Bazar.”
“I definitely look classy in lungi, but now I have become more fashionable, I wear good clothes at home for which my son-in-law praises me,” he added.
The actor was later asked if he tried to modify his character or polish it, to this, Anil said, “I tried to modify my scenes, from the looks, clothes because of the simplicity this character has.”
“My first films, when people didn’t know about me, I used room around the local markets of Mumbai i.e chor bazaar, street shopping to get the correct clothes and accessories,” he added.

How much does Anil relate with the character in your real life? “During 1977-78 when my father had a heart attack I was mentally forced to work (age18) to help my family, my struggle period ( I could relate with the character),” the ‘Race 3’ actor said.
“While Sonam was in school, she used to complain to her mother of getting bullied by her friends. She had worked hard on her weight (body shaming). There I relate with the film,” Anil Kapoor added.
Later, he was about who is the ‘Fanney Khan’ of Bollywood, to which Kapoor said, “Shah Rukh Khan is the Fanney Khan.” Anil further stated, ” Salman Khan is also a Fanney Khan, Aamir Khan to sabse bada Fanney Khan.” He also mentioned about directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Subhash Ghai for being the Fanney Khan of Bollywood.
The film will hit theaters on 3rd August this year!
