Anil Kapoor – I wish to do a black, psychotic role

Bollywood’s jhakaas actor Anil Kapoor desires to play a dark character onscreen. The actor whose recent flick Welcome Back has hit the theaters on September 4, says he wants to play a truly evil character. Anil Kapoor has enchanted fans with different genres, that he has performed onscreen from a lover boy, to an action hero he has done it all.

Anil Kapoor said, “I have never been offered a completely black, psychotic role like Sanjay Dutt in Agneepath — a role with no explanation or justification — someone so evil people will shudder in fear. I want to play something like Christopher Waltz did in In glorious Bastards (as Hans Landa) or Leonardo DiCaprio (as slave owner Calvin Candie) did in Django Unchained. I love the passive aggressive violence and cunning in their characters.”

He further added that, “It has to excite me. The producer, director and the script are important considerations as well. I don’t think I’ve been offered such roles before because I’ve played very possitive characters so far. My role in Ram Lakhan is still remembered! My lovable, entertaining, family man image makes people expect certain things of me.”

The actor will now be concentrating on his hit television thriller show 24.
