Anil Kapoor recalls his father did not assist him in early days of career, says it made him a ‘bitter’ person

Anil Kapoor is one of the most veteran actors we have in Bollywood. Recently, Anil Kapoor starred in Animal which emerged as a blockbuster. Now, Anil Kapoor continues to soar as he is geared up for the release of his upcoming movie Fighter. However, one might assume that the actor had easy days in the early stage of his career, being the son of a well-known producer Surinder Kapoor. In a recent interview, Anil Kapoor opened up about his father and stated that he did not assist Anil in the making in the industry.

Fighter actor Anil Kapoor indulged in a conversation with Mid-Day wherein he spoke about his father and the initial days of his career. Speaking of his father, Anil Kapoor said, “He was very honest, decent, and kind of an introvert. He was a good man, not pushy, filmy, or aggressive – a gentleman.” He added, “He clearly told me, ‘I cannot do anything for you,’ and I never expected him to. So, I instinctively felt, ‘It’s time for me to get out, go to the battlefield, and fight it out.”

Further, Anil Kapoor expresses how his struggle affected his work. Speaking of the same, he said, “It was exhausting, tiring, and frustrating. I looked worse, felt worse. He said ,”I used to sit with my friends and have rum. I was a bitter person.” He added, “I channeled it into my work – Awaragi, Mashaal. You see that anger, that bitterness. Awaragi came much later, but Mashaal, yes.”

Anil Kapoor took to his Instagram handle and penned a beautiful note as he celebrated his dad’s birthday. Sharing pictures of his dad, Anil Kapoor wrote, “Celebrating my dad’s birthday today—simple, honest, and a joyous man. He stood tall, exuding handsomeness, and his resonant voice could be heard from miles away. I miss him dearly, yet his voice echoes within me, bringing warmth to every day of my life.”

Meanwhile, on the workfront, Anil Kapoor will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. The upcoming aerial action spectacle also stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead. On this note, Fighter is all set to hit the release date next year on 25th January.
