Anil Kapoor to attend Thank You For Coming world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

The season of chick flick is here and Bhumi Pednekar is bringing it in with her girl gang in Thank You For Coming. Its trailer was recently released and garnered appreciation for its representation of female friendship. The light nature of the film and its astounding cast adds to its appeal. Its world premiere is slated to happen at Toronto International Film Festival. And it has become all the more exciting as Anil Kapoor will be attending the screening.

Anil Kapoor to attend Thank You For Coming premiere at TIFF

Anil is confirmed to grace the 46th Toronto International Film Festival 2023 with his presence. The actor has a special role in Thank You For Coming and is also its co-producer with daughter Rhea Kapoor. The film is set for its world premiere at the distinguished and luxurious Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto.

Excited for his appearance, Anil shares, “You know, I’ve been wanting to attend TIFF ever since Slumdog Millionaire! That year, I traveled to pretty much all the celebrated festivals for Slumdog – from BFI at London to Cannes and everything in between. The only festival I couldn’t attend then was TIFF. And that was only because my visa didn’t arrive in time for me to be there. So TIFF has been on my bucket list ever since! I may not have been able to attend the festival then as part of the cast of a movie, but this year I get to be there in the capacity of a proud producer! Thank You For Coming has so much heart, soul and sass, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it’s showcase on such a hallowed platform!”

Along with Anil, the film’s cast including Bhumi, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila and Shibani Bedi will also be present at the event. Accompanying them will be producer Ektaa R Kapoor and director Karan Boolani.

Thank You For Coming release date

The trailer for the film premiered last week, sparking immense excitement. It has particularly connected with female viewers globally. Its audacious and offbeat narrative ensures the film is going to be the standout at TIFF this year. Balaji Telefilms Limited and Anil Kapoor Film Communication Network Pvt. Ltd have produced the film. Thank You For Coming is directed by Karan Boolani and written by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh. The film will release in theatres worldwide on 6th October 2023.
