Anil Kapoor weeps as Anupam Kher revisits Satish Kaushik’s last words to him: Main abhi marne waala nahi hoon

Veteran actor Anupam Kher hosted a musical night, in remembrance of his late friend, actor-filmmaker, Satish Kaushik. The event was attended by Anil Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azami, Rani Mukerji, and Johnny Lever. The Kashmir Files actor remembered his late friend and cherished sweet memories, during the event. Speaking at the event, Anupam Kher also recalled his last conversation with Satish Kaushik. He shared Kaushik’s last words to him.

The Goodbye actor recalled speaking to Kaushik and expressing concern about his health. Kher said, “On the 9th, 7th he came on my birthday, he called me up, maine kaha, ‘Tu bohut thaka hua sound karraha hai’ (I said, ‘You sound very tired’).“

Anupam Kher revealed he asked Kaushik to admit himself to a hospital. He told the late actor, “Kyu aesa karraha hai? Tu aesa kar hospital mein chala ja, check-in kar, don’t admit yourself, go and check in’.(Why is that so? Go to the hospital and check-in.)”

The actor mentioned what Satish Kaushik said in his response when he asked him to get hospitalized. Kher continued, “Toh usne kaha, ‘Don’t worry, main abhi marne waala nahi hoon’ (He said, ‘Don’t worry, I am not going to die’). And after three hours he, unfortunately, left us.“

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Kher cried on the stage, while speaking about his late friend. Anil Kapoor, who was present at the event, cried bitterly, while Kher spoke. As per the report, during the event, the Goodbye actor shared that Kapoor prepared an audio-visual, for Kaushik.

Then, Kher requested Anil Kapoor to speak about Kaushik on the stage. He continuously denied and expressed he won’t go ahead on the stage. As Kher extended his support to Kapoor, the Fighter actor walked towards the stage. However, he broke down, midway. Later, Anupam Kher also began crying and told Kapoor, “Anil tu pagal hai. Main theek thaak jaraha tha (Anil you are mad. I was going fine).”

The event was organized on the first birth anniversary of Satish Kaushik. Several celebrities spoke about the actor and shared stories celebrating Kaushik.

Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9, in Delhi, following a heart attack. He was 66. The actor-filmmaker is survived by his wife, Shashi Kaushik, and daughter, Vanshika.
