Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga says awards shows ‘promote their own friends’, comments on feeling hostile in the film industry

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently cherishing the thunderous success of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. Though the movie received mixed response from the audience, it earned moolah at the box office. Animal has become the chatter among the audience for its alleged controversial content and certain objectionable scenes. Now, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has said that the film industry is hostile towards outsiders like him.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga mocks award shows

The Animal director recently got into a chat with Dainik Bhaskar. Sandeep said that he does not want to sound like he’s complaining too much, and that’s why he has chosen to stay quite about things that he has experienced in the entertainment industry. The director said, “It’s literally like animal behaviour, you rebel against anybody who threatens to enter your territory.”

He also commented on feeling hostile in the film industry. Sandeep added, “It happens. Look at awards shows. They promote their own friends. Everybody knows what awards shows are like. I can keep going till tomorrow if I decide to tell you what I’ve gone through in the last four years with Kabir Singh and Animal. Your camera will run out of memory but I’ll keep going, so much has happened to me. But I don’t want to cry like a baby.”

Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has earned 19 nominations at the Filmfare awards. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Animal also carries a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri among others.
