Kangana Ranaut’s magnum opus ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, which was released on January 25, has done quite well over the weekend and managed to hold its own. During its first weekend till Sunday, the film earned Rs. 42.55 crore. The film depicts the story of Rani Laxmibai and her contribution to the freedom struggle against the British. With ‘Manikarnika’, Kangana Ranaut also stepped into the shoes of a director and made her directorial debut.
On the other hand, the film also marks the Bollywood debut of television actress, Ankita Lokhande. The ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame can be seen playing the role of Jhalkaribai. The actress has been receiving praise from all corner since the trailer of the film was released. We can definitely say that her acting impressed the viewers and added more to the success of the film.
On seeing the success of the film in the very first weekend, Ankita took to social media to write a heartfelt thank you note for her director and co-actor, Kangana Ranaut. She termed Kangana as the best director. Take a look at the post:

Recently, in an interview, Ankita Lokhande had said that TV is her home and will always be her first love after all that. The actress had also noted that how she owes all of what she has achieved today to television and that she is proud to be called a TV actor.
The Pavitra Rishta fame had also admitted how it was the physical prep for the film that was a task and that it was difficult for her to get into the skin of the character because she had never used a gun or ridden a horse or done a sword fight.

It is to be noted that for the role, both Kangana and Ankita had to undergo training in sword-fighting and horse-riding.
