Almost a month after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his family filed an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for abetment of suicide. And now finally we have Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande sharing her views on the theories surrounding his death. The ‘Manikarnika’ actress spoke about how a man like Sushant was a happy-go-lucky guy and not the kind who would commit suicide.
Speaking to Republic TV, Ankita said that she and Sushant were in a relationship for almost seven years. And as far she knows him he could never be depressed. He may have faced anxiety issues but calling him depressed person won’t be correct. Ankita even lashed out at people labelling Sushant as bipolar. She even raised questions regarding people stating that he committed suicide within minutes after the news of his death surfaced.
“Sushant was not the guy who could commit suicide. We have seen worse situations when we were together. He was a happy-go-lucky guy. How much ever I know him, he wasn’t a depressed guy. I have not seen a person like Sushant, a guy who used to write his own dreams, he had a diary… He had his 5-year plan — what he wants to do, how he will look, etc. And exactly after 5 years, he had fulfilled all of them. And when terms like ‘depression’ are used after his name… it is heartbreaking. He might be upset, anxious, yes, but depression is a big word. Calling someone ‘bipolar’ is a big thing,” Ankita said.

She further added, “The Sushant that I know — he came from a small town. He established himself on his own. He has taught me so many things, he taught me acting. Kisi ko pata bhi hai Sushant kaun aur kya tha (does anybody even know who the real Sushant was)? Everyone is writing their own portrayal of how ‘depressed’ he was, it hurts reading all of this.”

Ankita even said that she might not know what the situation was or what exactly happened but he was not at all a depressed guy. “I don’t want people to remember him as a depressed guy, he was a hero. He was an inspiration,” she added.
On Thursday, Bihar Police questioned Ankita at her Mumbai residence. Even after their break-up, Ankita was in touch with Sushant’s sister and they all shared a great bond.
