‘Kai Po Che‘ actor Sushant Singh Rajput who already tasted both critical and commercial success with his debut film, is now busy shooting for ‘Dhoni: The Untold Story’, a biopic on famous Indian cricketer MS Dhoni. However, looks like he has bagged another biopic already! If reports are to be believed, then Sushant has started working on a biopic on athlete Murlikant Petkar.
Petkar was an army man who later turned an athlete and went on to win back to back golds in Commonwealth Games 1970 & Germany Paralympics 1972. The script of the film has been written by film journalist Prashant Singh. Prashant revealed how Petkar himself was so pleased to hear that Sushant would be playing the title character in the film.
“Even though other actors and filmmakers were keen to acquire the rights to Murli sir’s journey, he zeroed in on Sushant since he confessed to being a fan of the actor. Murli sir has lived an unbelievable journey. If someone had written this as a fictional story, the writer would’ve definitely been laughed at,” he recalled.
Sushant is considering a series of exercises including swimming and boxing as a part of his preparation, and is equally elated to have received the opportunity as well. “I was amazed by his journey and immediately agreed that these stories need to be told. Petkar’s journey is extra-ordinary and so compelling that it can change many lives by motivating people to accomplish the unthinkable. I am extremely excited to be associated with this project from its nascent stage,” he said.
With this, Sushant Singh Rajput’s career is surely on an upline. We can’t wait to see the actor wooing us on-screen!
